Kifowit Hosting Third-Thursday-Talk on "Staycations"

AURORA, Ill. – To share information with area residents about affordable vacation destinations available in Illinois, state Rep. Stephanie Kifowit, D-Oswego, will host a “Staycations” seminar on Thursday, April 16 at 6 p.m. at the Aurora Public Library, 555 S. Eola Rd, in Aurora.

“You do not need spend small fortune to have an enriching summer with the entire family,” Kifowit said. “Whether your interests are fishing and bicycling or concerts and museums, this ‘staycations’ event will provide families with exciting vacation ideas that can be found right here in Illinois. We have the best of both worlds here in our state, which means we can enjoy the conveniences of urban areas and the peace and serenity that comes from visiting one of our great state parks.”

Guest speakers for Kifowit’s “Staycations” seminar will include Mike Stevens from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, to speak on outdoor activities, Beth Marchetti of the DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau, will talk about weekend family trips in the DuPage County area, and Heather M. Sturm from the Aurora Public Library (APL) will discuss APL’s upcoming summer programs for children and teens, including the youth library talent show and the kids’ book club.
