AURORA, Ill. – With local property tax bills being due June 1, state Rep. Stephanie Kifowit, D-Oswego, has invited families to attend an Understanding Your Property Tax Bill Seminar on Thursday, May 21 at 6 p.m. in the Eola Branch of the Aurora Public Library, located at 555 S. Eola Rd, in Aurora.
“The number one issue affecting homeowners in my district is rising property taxes,” Kifowit said. “Many families simply can no longer carry the burden of what is essentially a second mortgage on their house. Assessor Dixon and Supervisor Nicoletti will provide valuable information to help attendees better understand the property tax appeal process and to see if you are eligible for certain tax exemptions.”
Those who attend this free event will be able to ask property tax-related questions, including how to appeal their assessment and learn more about property tax exemptions and relief programs. Attendees are encouraged to bring their property tax bills. To RSVP or for questions, please contact Kifowit’s full-time constituent service office by calling 630-585-1308, by email at Stephanie.Kifowit@att.net, or by visiting www.ILDistrict84.com.
