Last Chance to Choose Trash, Recycling Cart Sizes: Montgomery
Remember to leave your old cart by the curb after trash pickup on the last collection day.

MONTGOMERY, IL — Montgomery residents have until Friday, July 7 to select a size for the rolling refuse and recycling carts that will be provided by the Village’s new waste hauler, D.C. Trash. Cart size options for both refuse and recycling are 35, 65, 95 gallon. Residents who do not specify a size for each program will receive the default sizes of 95 gallon for refuse and 65 gallon for recycling.
Carts will be delivered beginning the week of July 24. If you have already notified the village of your selection, please don't make a duplicate submission.
All carts cost the same, so make your selection based on what will fit in your garage and/or how much trash and recycling you expect to dispose of each week.

It is also important to remember that your last regularly scheduled collection day in July (Tuesday, July 25-Monday, July 31), Republic Services will empty carts put out at the curb. A second truck and crew will come along after refuse/recycling collection to pick up the blue recycling carts. Do not take the cart back up to the house on the final collection day. Instead, leave it at the curb for the second truck to pick-up. Carts are owned by Republic and a fee may be applied for lost carts.
An online form to request the specific size trash and recycling carts that you want is also available.
