Leaf Pick-Up Underway In Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, IL—Fall foliage can be gorgeous, but as the leaves drop, they can easily litter the roads and cover traffic lines, potholes and other road hazards.

To maintain the village's beautiful facade, Montgomery is offering bulk leaf pick-up services to residents.

Prior to pick-up, however, residents must follow a few simple rules. First, leaves must be raked and placed no more than five inches from the curb of the road. The leaves must also be placed in front of the home by 7 a.m. and on the Monday of collection week.

Public works crews began passing through the village the week of Oct. 28.

They'll continue to do so again during the weeks of Nov. 4 and Nov. 11.
