Learn About the Golden Age of Television

The Montgomery Village Hall is holding a presentation July 12.

MONTGOMERY, IL — Nearly everybody loves TV and the Village of Montgomery will be holding a free program on the golden age of television by Larry Bergnach.

Bergnach is a popular speaker and the program will be an interactive, variety show highlighting early television shows. It will include the jokes, routines and stories of Charlie Chaplin, Milton Berle, Jack Benny, Groucho Marx, Jackie Gleason, Sid Caesar, Martin and Lewis, Danny Thomas, Phyllis Diller, Steve Allen, Joan Rivers, Johnny Carson and more.

For 15 years, Bergnach served as an instructor for Dale Carnegie, teaching seminars on corporate team building and stress management. Bergnach has been on television as a humorist and a guest several times on WGN Radio with Rick Kogan of the Chicago Tribune.

The event is free and open to the general public. It will be held at 10 a.m. July 12 at the Village of Montgomery, located at 200 N. River Street.

The monthly Senior Lunch and activity for 55+ will begin at 11 a.m. after the entertainment. There is a $4 cost for the lunch and pre-registration by July 5 is required.
