Man Sexually Assaulted 12-Year-Old: Sheriff

The 26-year-old is accused of assaulting the girl five years ago.

AURORA, IL — A 26-year-old Aurora man faces predatory criminal sexual assault charges amid allegations that he sexually assaulted a 12-year-old acquaintance five years ago. The Kendall County Sheriff's Office said it received a report from the girl, now 17, on Dec. 22, 2016, alleging that Jacob Browning sexually assaulted her when she was 12 and he was 21.

Detectives began an investigation, and the Kendall County State's Attorney's Office charged Browning on Sept. 1. He was taken into custody Monday with the assistance of the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, police said.

Browning, of the 200 block of Fourth Street, Aurora, is in custody at the Kendall County jail. His bond was set at $500,000, meaning he'd have to pay $50,000 to be released.
