Montgomery Taking Applications for Village Clerk

Clerk Heidi A. Dziedzic has resigned, effective at the end of January.

Following the resignation of Village Clerk Heidi A. Dziedzic, the Village of Montgomery is seeking applicants to fill the position until it comes up for election in April 2017.

Village President Matt Brolley said requirements for the position are a follows:

  • Attend two Village Board Meetings each month and one Committee of the Whole Meeting, plus any Special Board Meetings as scheduled. Meetings typically are held at 7:00 p.m. on weekdays.
  • Transcribe meeting minutes from audio recordings and written notes, emailing them to the Village Administrator by the required deadline (usually within one week).
  • Be available to sign documents at the Village Hall at least once a week (can be on weekends).

Excellent minute preparation, keyboarding and computer skills are required.

Brolley estimated the clerk spends approximately six to eight hours attending meetings each month, and about twice that many hours transcribing and preparing minutes.

The position pays $7,200 per year.

Applicants will be asked to attend the Village Board Meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26 to take notes and prepare sample minutes.
