Montgomery Trustee Charged with Disorderly Conduct

He was charged after residents signed complaints against him.

MONTGOMERY, IL — A Montgomery trustee has been arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after an incident Aug. 15.

Montgomery Police Chief Daniel Meyers said at around 11 p.m. officers were sent to the 2100 block of Kathleen Ct. for a fireworks complaint after Trustee Stephen R. Jungermann called the police after hearing fireworks in the area.

A Montgomery police officer could not locate any evidence of fireworks and no one could positively identify the suspects who allegedly lit off fireworks, according to Meyers. After further investigation, it was determined that there was a verbal altercation that occurred before and during the investigation.

Jungermann, 43, of the 2100 block of Emma Ct. in Montgomery, was arrested and charged Aug. 23 with disorderly conduct after residents signed complaints against him, Meyers said.

Jungermann was processed and released with a court date of 8:30 a.m. Oct. 6 at the Kendall County Courthouse.

Jungermann’s trustee seat is up in 2017. He previously served as Chair of the Village of Montgomery’s Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals, according to the village website.
