Oswego East Promotes Assistant Wrestling Coach

Paul Coy will replace head coach Mike Jezioro this school year.

Submitted by Oswego School District:

Oswego East High School (OEHS) looked no further than its own program to hire its next head wrestling coach.

Assistant coach Paul Coy will replace Mike Jezioro at the helm, beginning with the 2014-15 school year. Jezioro resigned to accept an administrative position at Glenbard East High School, in Lombard, Ill. Coy has served as an assistant coach for the last seven years.

“He has a great relationship with the kids,” OEHS Athletic Director Dan DeBruycker said. “I know he is looking to increase numbers within the program and take it to the next level.”

The team sent its first qualifier to state competition in 2012 and 2013 and advanced a pair of wrestlers to the Class 3A sectional during the 2013-14 season. OEHS opens the 2014-15 season Nov. 26 at DeKalb High School, DeKalb, Ill.
