Oswego School Board Hires New Fox Chase Assistant Principal

Kelley Budd replaces Patrick Haddock, who is now at Hunt Club Elementary.

Students at Fox Chase Elementary School have a new assistant principal in place for the 2014-15 school year.

The Community Unit School District 308 Board of Education approved the hire of Kelley Budd on Monday, Aug. 25. Budd is replacing Patrick Haddock in the position, who transferred to the assistant principal position at Hunt Club Elementary School. In addition to her teaching experience, Budd comes to School District 308 with previous administrative experience in Plainfield.

“We are fortunate to have Kelly at Fox Chase. She comes to District 308 with many years of experience ,” Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services Dr. John Sparlin said. “She will be an asset to the School District 308 team, and a resource for Fox Chase students.”

Budd served as the assistant principal from 2009-10 at Meadow View Elementary School in School District 202, in Plainfield. Prior to coming to District 308, she was serving as a fifth grade teacher in School District 202, at Walker’s Grove Elementary School.

During her time in School District 202, she served as a teacher leader, where she is responsible for administrative duties, while building administrators are absent. She is also a liaison building administration, and the grade level team.

At Fox Chase, she will be returning to a school-wide administrative leadership role.

“I am excited for the opportunity and the journey,” Budd said. “Everybody has been very welcoming, the parents, students and the staff.”

Budd has a master’s degree in educational administration from Governor’s State University in University Park, Ill. She also has a bachelor’s degree in bachelor’s degree in elementary education and psychology from Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill.

Budd is currently pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership with a superintendent endorsement from Northern Illinois University, in DeKalb, Ill. She began her work at Fox Chase on Thursday, Aug. 14, and attended teacher institute day and the convocation.
