Oswego School District Announces New Staff

Oswego School District announced the following new hires and staffing changes last week:

• Plainfield resident Samantha Puhala is the new assistant principal at Old Post Elementary. A Golden Apple Teacher nominee, she most recently served as a reading coach and teacher evaluator at Parkland Community College in Champaign and a first-grade teacher at Chippewa Elementary School in Palos Heights.

• Aurora resident Brett Kueker is the new assistant principal at Wolf’s Crossing Elementary. He previously served as an art teacher at Homestead Elementary School, as well as a traveling art teacher at Churchill, Grande Park and Lakewood Creek elementary schools.

• Joliet resident Margaret Darnell is the new dean of students at Oswego East High School. She previously worked as the dean of students at Plainfield East High School in Plainfield, where she also served as the division chair for fine arts and world languages.

The staffing changes were approved by the Board of Education on July 30.
