Roof Of Montgomery Walmart Catches Fire: FD
Two people were injured, including one who was hospitalized for an "unrelated injury," officials said.

MONTGOMERY, IL — The roof of Walmart on Orchard Road caught fire Thursday afternoon, according to the Oswego Fire Protection District.
Firefighters were dispatched to the supermarket at 12:52 p.m. and quickly contained the fire to prevent further damage, according to a Friday news release.
Two people were injured, officials said. One person was evaluated and treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, while the other was hospitalized for an "unrelated injury."

Although the fire was contained to the roof, the interior of the store sustained smoke and water damage as a result of firefighting operations, officials said.
Walmart closed for the remainder of Thursday but reopened Friday, the store wrote on Facebook.

"Yesterday was unexpected, and we're truly grateful for the patience and kindness shown by our Montgomery Walmart Pharmacy customers," staff wrote. "We're happy to share that we are open again and here to take care of you!"
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
