Shattered Vehicle Window Alerts Boulder Hill Resident to Someone Outside Home: Police

A 20-year-old Aurora man has been charged in connected to the crime.

BOULDER HILL, IL — The sound of glass breaking alerted a Boulder Hill resident to someone outside their home in the 0-30 block of South Bereman Road Sept. 3. The victim looked outside and saw a man standing in their driveway. Before police were able to catch him, he disappeared into the night.

The victim discovered a window on their vehicle had been broken and patrol evidence technicians were able to recover physical evidence from the scene.

On Sept. 28, the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office charged Kenneth Loyd, a 20-year-old Aurora man, with burglary, criminal damage to property and criminal trespass to vehicle. Loyd’s bail was set at 10 percent of $50,000.

Loyd is currently in custody at the Illinois Department of Corrections on unrelated charges.
