Halloween is coming up and that means everyone is entitled to at least one good scare. At the Statesville Haunted Prison, you can certainly fill that quota.

According to its website, you will be forced to find your way through 23 maximum security cells and come eye to eye with over 100 criminals that were “too evil to die.”

Beginning Oct. 1 and running through Nov. 1, the Statesville Haunted Prison will scare people several times throughout the week. Fridays and Saturdays the prison is open from 7 to 11 p.m. Sunday and Thursday hours are 7 to 10 p.m. The prison will also be open from 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28

The prison bills itself as being one of Illinois’ best haunted houses for 19 years. 150 live actors participate whose main goal is to scare the hell out of you. On average, it takes between 40 and 50 minutes to get through the attraction, so cry babies should probably stay away.

Statesville Haunted Prison is located 5 miles south of I-55 at 17250 S. Weber Road in Crest Hill.
