Submitted by District 308:
School District 308 students in grades K-12 are invited to test their gaming skills at a fun-filled evening of chess and board games on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, from 6:30 to 8:30 at Bednarcik Junior High School, 3025 Heggs Road, Oswego.
“All students—not just chess experts—from the district are welcome to attend this fun-filled event,” said a Parents and Community for Excellence (PACE) spokesperson. “There will be cash raffles, and Chess Wizards is donating the grand prize—full tuition to one of the after-school chess clubs.”
Students who have been playing chess will have the opportunity to test their skills against other chess players from across the district.
The event is free, and parents are asked to bring their favorite board game for their kids who may not be interested in chess, but want to participate. Concessions will be available for purchase.
PACE 308 and Chess Wizards are sponsoring the event. For more information contact Oswegopace308@gmail.com or go to the Eventbrite site, below.
