TV Home Entertaining Host To Judge Aurora Area's Best Seafood Competition

Celebrity food judge Debbie Donato will be stopping by Yorkville on May 21 in search of the area’s best seafood.

The foodie extravaganza is being hosted by the Aurora Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. All restaurants in Aurora, Batavia, Big Rock, Hinckley, Montgomery, North Aurora, Plano, Sandwich, Sugar Grove and Yorkville are invited to participate. The seafood entered must be a regular menu item.

Donato is a certified judge by the World Food Championships and Kansas City Barbecue Society. She recently judged four food categories in Las Vegas at the World Food Championships and in January was a guest judge at the Culinary Fight Club in Chicago.

The competition will be held at the Hampton Inn, 310 E. Countryside Pkwy.,Yorkville. Thursday May 21 starting at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

The Illinois Restaurant Association will officiate over the judging process and declare the winner.

To enter the Best Seafood competition, email Mike Pfeiffer atSales@EnjoyAurora.com. Only the first ten to apply will compete.

The next competition will be held at Montgomery Park to find the area’s best BBQ. It will be Thursday June 11 starting at 5 p.m.

The CULINARY CHAMPIONS along with the 1st and 2nd runners up each month will be featured in a new travel itinerary that will be used to make the Aurora Area a culinary destination for the traveling public.
