18th annual SHARE “A Walk to Remember” Oct. 15 in Naperville

SHARE is a support group at Edward Hospital for those who have experienced a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or neonatal death.

SHARE’s 18th annual “A Walk to Remember” will be held Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion, 500 Jackson Ave., west of Centennial Beach in downtown Naperville.

SHARE is a support group at Edward Hospital for those who have experienced a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or neonatal death.

Proceeds from the Walk will benefit SHARE’s counseling services, bereavement training and education, and the Wings of Hope Angel Garden at Edward Hospital, an outdoor space that was designed as a place where grieving parents can seek peace and comfort, as well as memorialize their child.

Check-in and registration on the day of the event will begin at 8:30 a.m. A memorial service featuring music, poetry and a reading of baby names will be held at 9:30 a.m., followed by a one-and-a-half mile Walk at 10:15 a.m.

SHARE support groups are available at Edward Hospital, 801 S. Washington St. in Naperville. SHARE meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from 7:15-9:15 p.m. in the hospital’s Education Center, third floor. The group meets online the first Tuesday of each month from 8 to 9:30 p.m.

Sharing HOPE (Having Optimistic Pregnancy Expectations) is a support group for couples who have experienced a loss and are pregnant or considering pregnancy. Sharing HOPE meets at Edward on the second Thursday of each month from 7:15-9:15 p.m. in the hospital’s Education Center, third floor. The group also meets online the fourth Thursday of each month from 8 to 9:30 p.m.
