2 Kids, 2 Adults Evacuated After Car Fires Spread To Naperville Home

Two cars caught fire in the 1600 block of Mulligan Drive, causing a blaze that spread to a nearby multi-family home.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Two adults and two children were evacuated from a multi-family home in Naperville early Tuesday after a fire started in two cars and spread to the residence.

Fire crews were called to the 1600 block of Mulligan Drive just before 1:45 a.m. after someone pulled a fire alarm in the building. A resident told first responders that one car was on fire in an attached garage and another was ablaze in the driveway.

When firefighters got to the scene, they found heavy flames on the front of the two-story building. Four residents had evacuated before their arrival and firefighters helped four residents get out of another unit safely.

A resident was medically treated at the scene and released.

One of the units in the residence was deemed uninhabitable, but residents of the other two units were able to return to their homes.

Officials are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
