NAPERVILLE, IL — Firefighters from several departments battled a large house fire in the bitter cold Thursday in Naperville. Bureau Chief Scott Salela said Naperville firefighters responded to a 911 call in the 3500 block of Redwing Court at 4:09 p.m. to find a fire on the first floor in the rear of the home. Four residents were able to escape the fire, and fire crews arrived about four minutes after the 911 call, officials said.
Salela said the residents evacuated the home before firefighters arrived and were later evaluated by EMS personnel on the scene.
The alarm was quickly upgraded to a MABAS Box Alarm bringing additional fire, EMS, and
command units from Downers Grove and Aurora to the scene. A "Naper Notify" message went out asking residents to avoid Redwing Court as crews battled the fire.
