4 Naperville Students Named 2022 National Merit Scholars
Four Naperville-area scholars were among 1,200 students who recently earned college-sponsored National Merit Scholarships.
NAPERVILLE, IL — Four Naperville students were recently named 2022 National Merit Scholars. The group was among 1,200 students to earn a college-sponsored scholarship in this round of recipients.
This round of National Merit Scholars includes:
- Reyah S. Doshi, of Naperville North High School, who plans to study Education at Oberlin College
- Amanda M. Eldridge, of Neuqua Valley High School, who plans to study nutrition and dietetics at Florida State University
- Abhav Garde, of Metea Valley High School, who plans to study neuroscience at Case Western Reserve University
- Varun A. Ramasubbu, of Neuqua Valley High School, who plans to study computer science at Purdue University
In June, eight Naperville students were among 2,600 recipients to earn National Merit Scholarships sponsored by colleges or universities. These students were chosen from among a pool of more than 15,000 National Merit Finalists to receive scholarships of between $500 and $2000 a year for four years of college.

National Merit Finalists were selected after completing a scholarship application and an essay. Applicants were also chosen based on their standardized test scores, volunteer initiatives and academic records.
