6 Students Named 2024 National Merit Scholars In Naperville

Six students from Naperville will receive $2500 from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation to use as they head into college.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Six students from Naperville were recently chosen from among 16,000 students nationwide to receive 2024 National Merit scholarships.

The 2024 National Merit Scholar from Naperville are as follows:

  • Luke Golobitsh, who will study computer science at University of Minnesota
  • Randolph N. Ha, who will study computer engineering at Purdue University
  • Jal Manon, who will study software engineering at Purdue University
  • Trenton Lee Polk, who will study economics at University of Southern California
  • Brian Schlesinger, who will study business at Purdue University
  • Kira Yang, who will study science at Purdue University

Finalists were evaluated on their PSAT and National Merit Qualifying Test scores, academic records, letters of recommendations, community contributions and essay submissions.

When the 2024 National Merit Scholarship program comes to a close, some 6,800 finalists will have been chosen as Merit Scholars, receiving a total of close to $26 million in scholarships to attend accredited colleges and universities throughout the United States.
