86-Year-Old Woman Dies in Naperville Traffic Crash
The crash is still under investigation.

NAPERVILLE, IL — An 86-year-old Aurora woman has died following a car crash Sunday in Naperville.
Naperville police responded at 4:54 p.m. June 26 to the intersection of Route 59 and North Aurora Rd. for a three-vehicle crash.

A preliminary investigation indicates that an 86-year-old Aurora man in a 2004 silver Infiniti was traveling eastbound on North Aurora Rd. in the inside through lane when he turned left and was struck by a silver 2009 Lexus RX350 driven by a 27-year-old Aurora man who was traveling westbound on North Aurora Road.
According to police, the light was green for east and westbound traffic on North Aurora Rd. as the Lexus went through the intersection.

The Infiniti then struck a bronze 1991 Mercedes 300D driven by a 40-year-old woman from Chicago who was stopped at the red light on southbound Route 59 and North Aurora Road, police said.
The 86-year-old Aurora man, James E. Courtney, was cited for disobeying a traffic control device, improper turn and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, according to police.
An 86-year-old Aurora woman was injured in the crash and taken to Edward Hospital, where she later died, police said.
