Advocate Dreyer Adds Pediatric Occupational Therapy Services

Amy Foran, M.S. OTR/L, pediatric occupational therapist, has joined the department of Physical Therapy at Dreyer’s Fox Valley Villages location.

A pediatric occupational therapist works to improve a child’s ability to function successfully and independently in his or her everyday childhood occupations. Some of these occupations may include self-care (sleep, feeding, toileting, dressing), play, and school tasks such as handwriting. A pediatric occupational therapist looks at a number of different skill areas including sensory processing, attention, gross motor, fine motor, visual motor, and executive functioning.

Common conditions typically seen in pediatric occupational therapy include Sensory Processing Disorder, Autism Spectrum, ADHD, Developmental Delay, Fine Motor Delay, Stroke, Cerebral Palsy, Hyptonia, and feeding difficulties.

Ms. Foran received her undergraduate degree from Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois, in 2010. She went on to complete her degree at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois, in 2012.
