NAPERVILLE, IL — A fire broke out in a commercial building in the 500 block of Route 59 in Naperville early Thursday, causing $100,000 in damage to the building.
Fire crews were alerted just after 5:15 a.m. via their fire alarm board. When they got to the scene, no flames were visible from the building's exterior, light smoke and a burning smell were apparent.
It was found that a small fire had started in the building and was partially extinguished by a sprinkler system. Firefighters were able to put out the remaining fire with no injuries to responders or civilians.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
