Empowering the Next Generation: Women Crossing Boundaries Partners with GirlForward Chicago to Uplift Immigra

CHICAGO, IL — June 4, 2026 — The Women Crossing Boundaries Foundation, a youth-led organization dedicated to uplifting immigrant women and celebrating diverse cultures across Chicagoland, has launched a collaborative initiative with GirlForward Chicago to host impactful workshops and literacy programs supporting refugee and immigrant girls.

Founded by Maya Meschi, the Women Crossing Boundaries Foundation works to break barriers through cultural education, advocacy workshops, and literacy initiatives supporting immigrant women and girls.

As part of this ongoing initiative, the organizations came together for a collaborative workshop focused on empowerment, education, and community connection. The Women Crossing Boundaries Foundation donated approximately 50 books through its first community book drive, culminating in the presentation of a new book cart for GirlForward’s programming. The book drive marks the launch of an ongoing literacy initiative that the organization plans to expand to support additional community partners in the future.

The workshop created a space for meaningful dialogue, leadership development, and access to educational resources for young immigrant and refugee girls in the Chicago area.

This collaboration builds on the organization’s growing record of community impact. Over the past year, Women Crossing Boundaries Foundation has helped co-host workshops, continues to grow their literacy drives, and youth-led events designed to advocate for immigrant rights, celebrate cultural diversity, and expand access to educational resources across the Chicagoland community.

Women Crossing Boundaries Foundation will continue its work this summer with an independent leadership workshop scheduled for June 12, further expanding its mission to equip young leaders with the tools to create inclusive and equitable communities.

As a growing youth-led nonprofit, Women Crossing Boundaries Foundation is excited to bring students, educators, and community partners to support immigrant women and girls through advocacy, education, and service.
