NAPERVILLE, IL — At Dumont Creamery & Café, a few scoops of ice cream can take you on a trip around the globe. The Indian-owned ice cream shop, which serves up inventive flavors, boba, coffee, and other items inspired by global cuisine, is set to open its first Illinois location in Naperville this summer.
Founded by brothers Vivek and Bhaskar Inampudi, Dumont Creamery & Café started out as a modest endeavor in Hyderabad, India, to honor their father's dairy business.
The creamery's more than 50 flavors range from butterscotch and strawberry chunks to scoops that invoke international tastes.
Featured ice cream flavors include an Italian-influenced Mint Basil Sorbet and a Biscoff blend inspired by the famous Belgian cookies. The toffee-stuffed Hokey Pokey recalls a New Zealand favorite, and the Kheer ice cream conjures the classic South Asian rice pudding.
The shop's boba selection includes classic and matcha milk teas, along with fun flavors like tiger stripes and strawberry burst.
Global flavors also inspire the coffee selection at Dumont Creamery & Café, with options such as date cardamom lattes and mazagran, a sweet drink with roots in Algeria. The café uses artisanal coffee beans that are grown in the shade.
Today, Dumont Creamery & Café has dozens of stores throughout the United States, with shops in Texas, Maryland, South Carolina and Arkansas.
The Naperville Dumont Creamery & Café will be located at 448 S. Rte. 59.
