2-Way Stop May Be Installed At Hawkweed Drive and Rosinwood Lane

The change would establish Hawkweed Drive, which runs through the South Pointe Subdivision, as connecting street.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville's Transportation Advisory Board will discuss a recommendation that would create a two-way stop system at the intersection of Hawkweed Drive and Rosinwood Lane.

Hawkweed Drive runs north and south through the Southgate Pointe subdivision. Amid construciton of the Polo Club development, the connection of Hawkwood Drive was established, but has been blocked with a temporary gate.

According to meeting documents, the Polo Club annexation agreement calls for the gate to be removed once the first of three stipulations are met:

The gate would need to be removed before the transportation advisory board staff can evaluate the intersection for proposed traffic controls.

According to meeting documents, removing the gate will make Hawkweed Drive " classified as a neighborhood connector in the City's Master Thoroughfare plan. This will also create an uncontrolled intersection at Hawkweed Drive and Rosinweed Lane. Rosinweed Lane is a local street in the Master Thoroughfare plan and should stop."

The Transportation Advisory Board will meet Aug. 6 at 7 p.m.
