NAPERVILLE, IL — KidsMatter has been selected as the grand marshal of the Naperville Labor Day Parade. The parade is scheduled for Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in downtown Naperville.
Led by representatives for KidsMatter, the parade will step off at 10 a.m. near Naperville North High School and then head south on Mill Street. From Mill, the parade will turn east on Jefferson Avenue before heading south on Main Street to Porter Avenue. The parade ends at Naperville Central High School.
KidsMatter was founded in 2011 by Edward Hospital "as a community-wide prevention health strategy to combat teenage destructive behaviors," according to the organization's website.
Since then, the nonprofit and its volunteers have helped thousands of area children with mental health, social and developmental support and programs.
