Council members want clearer written policies and justification before reconsidering, while Police Chief Jason Arres argues updated, AI-enabled cameras are vital for protecting infrastructure and aiding investigations.
   

5. Semi-truck causes I-88 crash in Naperville after striking railroad bridge (chicagotribune.com) — Drivers using I-88 through Naperville faced major delays Thursday after a semi-truck hit a Canadian National Railway bridge near Eola Road, temporarily closing westbound lanes and backing up traffic for miles. One person was taken to a hospital with possible injuries, and state police say they're still determining what caused the crash and assessing damage to the tollway bridge.
