NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville kids are counting down the days to Halloween, when they can don their favorite costumes and head out for trick-or-treating. Naperville does not have designated trick-or-treating times, but families are encouraged to head out before nightfall and get back home by 8 p.m.
Though Naperville does not have set trick-or-treating hours, the following tips have been suggested in past years to help trick-or-treaters stay safe:

Safety Town Trick-or-Treat
Oct. 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Safety Town, 1320 Aurora Ave.
Safety Town's Trick-or-Treat features activity stations with area businesses giving out candy, toys and other goodies. There will also be a chance to learn some Halloween safety tips. The event is geared toward children three to 12 years old, but younger kids can attend too.
Tickets to the Safety Town Trick-or-Treat are a $15 donation with a service fee. Families are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for donation as well.
Downtown Naperville Trick-or-Treat
Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Downtown Naperville
Shops and restaurants will hand out candy as costumed kids trick-or-treat through downtown Naperville. Participating businesses will have event posters up in their windows. The event is free and includes candy and other goodies.
Halloween Happening
Oct. 25 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Riverwalk Grand Pavilion
Children 10 and under can wear their Halloween costumes to this free event, which promises games, themed activities and candies.
