IKEA To Move To Naperville, Close Bolingbrook Store (patch.com) β Naperville is set to gain its own IKEA in 2027, as the retailer closes its large Bolingbrook store and opens a smaller-format location in the Block 59 retail plaza. Residents will have closer access to furniture, a Swedish Food Market and Deli, and a more conveniently sized store while IKEA aims to stay accessible to Bolingbrook shoppers as well.

Car Hits Home, Starts Fire In Naperville (patch.com) β Naperville residents on the 3000 block of Crystal Rock saw a car crash into a home Tuesday afternoon, sparking a fire that heavily damaged the house. Firefighters quickly contained the blaze and confirmed no injuries, but the home was ruled uninhabitable with damage estimated at $500,000. The incident highlights both the rapid response of Naperville fire crews and the serious impact on the affected household.

Lincoln Junior High students named Pollinator Protectors of the Year for state bee project (dailyherald.com) β Eighth-graders at Lincoln Junior High in Naperville have been honored as Pollinator Protectors of the Year after their classroom project helped the black and gold bumble bee become Illinois' official state bee. Their research, statewide student voting effort, and outreach through the DuPage Monarch Project spotlighted native bees' importance and showed how a local classroom can influence state symbols.

5. 2026 Mayor's Faith in Community Breakfast is set for Dec. 4 at Fry Family YMCA (positivelynaperville.com) β Naperville residents are invited to the Mayor's Faith in Community Breakfast on Friday, Dec. 4 at the Fry Family YMCA, supporting local programs that help struggling families. With Mayor Scott Wehrli attending, a former NFL player keynoting, and multiple sponsorship levels available, organizers expect 450β500 guests and emphasize that all proceeds stay at the Fry to ensure no one is turned away.
