At the Oct. 19 meeting, board members will vote on a $6,914,671 proposal that involves 14 prioritized capital improvement projects. These include air conditioning upgrades at Jefferson, Steeple Run and Naperville North, playground upgrades at Maplebrook and track resurfacing at Naperville Central.

Tentative projects for 2028-29 are estimated to cost $22,745,572. Priorities include installing galvanized piping at Ellsworth, Maplebrook, Beebe, Scott and Naper schools.

The prioritized tentative projects outlined for 2029-30 in the CIP include replacing water heaters, boilers, storage and theatre rigging at Naperville Central. The estimated cost of all tentative projects for this period is $28,670,314.

For 2030-31, the total estimated cost of all tentative projects is $34,228,599. Priority projects include roof maintenance at Naperville Central and Ellsworth, boilers at Washington and theatre rigging at Naperville North.

The CIP estimates that all tentative projects for 2031-32 will total $40,503,537. Of these, priority projects include electrical panel and generator work at Jefferson, a roof at Washington and a playground at Ann Reid South.

The CIP outlined three strategies for accelerating the proposed and tentative projects. One strategy involves reducing costs via in-house resources. Another involves seeking external funding for unexpected costs. The third strategy would require an annual review to see if money from the District's Fund 60 could be used.
