NAPERVILLE, IL — A 61-year-old Naperville man was killed in a single-car crash Saturday night.

Police were called to the intersection of Olesen Drive and Hobson Road around 10:30 p.m. for a report of a crash. When they got to the scene, they found a 2015 Mercedes Benz stuck on its side beneath a "large tree and pinned against a fence" with the driver entrapped, a news release said.

Firefighters extricated the man and he was pronounced dead at the scene. As of Sunday morning, the victim's name had not been made public.

Police say it appears the man was driving south on Olesen when the car went off the road, near Hobson and hit the tree before flipping onto its side and striking the fence.

The crash investigation closed Hobson and Olesen until around 3 a.m.

Naperville police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or may have information to call the department's traffic unit at 630-420-6117.
