Anderson's Toyshop to Hold Grand Opening Saturday in Naperville

From the owners of Anderson's Bookshop comes an all new toy store for all your toy needs.

NAPERVILLE, IL — If you’re a fan of Anderson’s Bookshop then you’re going to check out its new business venture: Anderson’s Toyshop.

A grand opening celebration will be held Saturday, Sept. 10 at 111 W. Jefferson Ave. Visitors will be treated to refreshments, meet-and-greet opportunities with costumed characters throughout the day, product raffle drawings (must be present to win) and more. The day begins at 10 a.m. with a character storytime, followed by a Crazy Aaron play day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. At 1 p.m. a make-your-own plush craft begins until 3 p.m. Another craft demonstration runs from 3 to 5 p.m.

“We’re trying to fill a void for a general toy store and offering a great selection of high quality toys, games, crafts and puzzles,” said Assistant Toy Buyer Katie Anderson, who has helped get Anderson’s Toyshop launched, with her father Tres Anderson, an owner of the business with his siblings. “We want this to be a place where kids can come and be themselves and get excited because we’re excited to share this with our customers.”

What the community can expect at Anderson’s Toyshop is 2,000 square feet of bright and inviting wonder. Peter Anderson and Mark Rott completed the design and upgrade of the space formerly used as the Anderson-run gift shop, Two Doors East.

Many of the same toy products that Anderson’s Bookshop carries are now at Anderson’s Toyshop, but are substantially extended. Toylines include well-known favorites like Gund, Jellycat, Playmobil, Lego, International Playthings, Ravensburger and Melissa & Doug.

“Now with Anderson’s Toyshop, we have a dedicated store for toys and more,” Katie Anderson says. “And we have room for deeper inventory by bringing in more dress-up toys and baby-focused playthings. We are pleased to bring in new lines and have room to try some items we haven’t had space to carry.”

Anderson’s Bookshop members will receive the same discount benefits at the new Anderson’s Toyshop location. Memberships are valid at all Anderson’s locations.
