Applications Open For Naperville Police Youth Academy
High school students are welcome to apply for the free six-week academy, which teaches teens about the ins and outs of police operations.
NAPERVILLE, IL — Local high school students are welcome to take part in the Naperville Police Department Youth Academy, a free six-week course that helps teens understand how their local police department functions.
Police officers will teach participants about investigations, K-9 officers, forensics and more to give them a sneak peek of how things work behind the scenes at the police department. Students must meet the following criteria to attend:
- Be a current high school student or be set to enter high school in fall 2022
- Live or attend high school in Naperville
- Be a student in good standing
- Have no criminal contacts
- Have permission from parents to participate
- Have transportation to and from Naperville Police Department
The academy kicks runs June 16 through July 21 and will be held on Thursday nights at the Naperville Police Department, 1350 Aurora Ave., Naperville. The deadline to apply is June 1.
