NAPERVILLE, IL — A fire broke out on the balcony of an apartment in Naperville Sunday, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

Fire crews got to the 400 block of East Bailey Road just after 8:45 p.m. to find fire on the balcony of the building's third floor. No one was inside the apartment, which was locked, so firefighters forced their way into the unit.

The fire was put out within 15 minutes, a news release said. The unit was deemed habitable, with damage estimated at $5,000.
