Ban On Kratom Sales Now In Effect In Naperville
Naperville City Council members voted unanimously in September to ban the sale of kratom within city limits.
NAPERVILLE, IL — A citywide ban against kratom sales officially went into effect Thursday.
City Council members voted unanimously in September to approve the ban of the herb, which is derived from trees in southeast Asia. Kratom users often ingest the herb to treat pain or anxiety, but concerns have been raised about its psychoactive effects and risks for overdose.
Naperville's ban applies to the sale of products containing natural or synthetic kratom.
