Cafe N Play, a cafe that also offered an indoor play area for children in Naperville, has announced it will be closing at the end of March.

The business, at 1767 W Ogden Ave., Suite 155, has provided parents a place to relax while their children played for over the past three years, wrote owner Cathy Subber in a post on the Cafe N Play Facebook page.

Unfortunately, she said, the business is not making enough money to stay open.

“The math just wasn’t working in our favor. At the end of the day, we needed the business to at least break even and unfortunately we couldn’t make this work from a financial standpoint,” Subber wrote last week in the Facebook post. “All of our passion and effort couldn’t help solve the fact that revenues fell short of expenses.”

Subber also owns the Naperville Moms Network, which is a group of local moms that has an online presence and also hosts monthly events.

Subber told the Daily Herald Cafe N Play was often packed in the morning and that sometimes, the crowd of people in the play area drove potential customers away.

“If I could do it over again, I’d do it with a larger play town,” Subber told the Daily Herald.
