Indigenous Peoples’ Day Land Acknowledgment Ceremony

Casa DuPage, in collaboration with the Alliance of Latinos Motivating Action in the Suburbs (ALMAS) and community partners, invites the community to an Indigenous Peoples’ Day Land Acknowledgment Ceremony on Monday, October 12, 2026, from 10:00–11:00 AM in Wheaton.

Led by Rosa Gaytan and other community leaders, the gathering will honor Indigenous peoples as the historical guardians of these lands, recognize their histories and continued presence, and acknowledge the lasting impacts of colonization, forced displacement, and genocide.

This public gathering provides an opportunity for community members and leaders to come together in reflection, recognition, and support of Indigenous histories, cultures, and enduring connections to the land.
