Chimney Fire Breaks Out In Home In Naperville

NAPERVILLE, IL — A single-family home in Naperville was damaged after a fire broke out in its chimney Saturday evening.

Fire crews were called to the 3200 block of Haider Avenue just before 7 p.m. for a report of flames coming from the chimney of the house. Firefighters arrived shortly after the call to find that the fire had not spread into the home.

They were able to keep the blaze contained to the chimney and got the flames under control by 7:19 p.m.

The home sustained some damage from crews extinguishing the fire, but residents were able to return to the premises. The cause of the fire was deemed to be accidental.
