District 204 Unveils Inaugural Strategic Plan

District 204's new strategic plan aims to foster student and staff development and optimize resources within the district and its community.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Indian Prairie School District 204 recently released its inaugural strategic plan, outlining strategies to improve student and staff development, optimize resources and foster growth in the district.

The plan's release comes after a committee was formed of parents, staff members, students and other district community members. The committee held four meetings to develop areas of focus that were priorities for District 204's overall strategy for the next five years.

Ultimately, the district identified the following priorities for its strategic plan, according to a news release:

  • Focusing on student development
  • Investing in staff members
  • Engaging with community members
  • Optimizing resources and operations

"Our final product is a forward-looking strategic plan," District 204 Superintendent Dr. Adrian Talley said in a statement.

Talley continued, "It enhances our ability to impact our students, staff, and larger community positively. This plan will inspire us all for the future."

The plan's mission is to "Inspire all students to achieve their greatest potential, according to the District 204 Strategic Plan document.

In a letter accompanying the strategic plan, District 204 Board President Laurie Donahue writes, "

Our new plan will drive decision making, define goals, and initiate efforts to continue allowing our
students to thrive and prepare for future success. We commit to evaluating the results to ensure
expectations are met."
