DMG Installs Advanced Imaging Technology, Expands Nuclear Medicine Services to Naperville
Dual-detector gamma camera offers improved diagnostic accuracy for various diseases, including early-stage cancers

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – DuPage Medical Group, the largest independent, multi-specialty physician group in the Chicago area, has expanded its nuclear medicine services to Naperville with the addition of a dual-detector gamma camera. An advanced imaging system, the new technology performs several nuclear medicine and diagnostic procedures, and is now available at DMG Radiology located at 808 Rickert Drive.
Nuclear medicine is an increasingly valuable imaging tool that uses small amounts of radioactive material to diagnose a variety of cancers, and other medical conditions, in their earliest stages. The sophisticated dual-detector gamma camera allows DMG radiologists to conduct nuclear medicine studies, whole body and single-photon emission computerized tomography, or SPECT, scans with improved accuracy and efficiency.
“For patients with critical conditions such as cancer, an early diagnosis is vital to their prognosis and can often determine their chances of effective treatment and, ultimately, their survival,” said Rajit Shetty, DMG Radiologist. “The capabilities of the dual-detector gamma camera enable our physicians to better identify diseases at their onset by providing detailed anatomical information often unobtainable with other imaging systems.”

Completely noninvasive and painless, nuclear medicine examinations are more sensitive than other techniques and provide unique information, including complex details on both function and anatomic structure of the body.
“As a leading radiology provider in the area, our goal is to stay at the forefront of diagnostic care,” said Shetty. “Expanding nuclear medicine services to Naperville is part of DMG’s commitment to ensure our patients have access to the most advanced technology available.”
