Dog Owner Flashed Gun At Whalon Lake Dog Park: Police
Kevin Cruz, 37, of Bolingbrook, was charged with aggravated assault, battery and disorderly conduct in connection with the Dec. 2 incident.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A Bolingbrook man faces multiple felony charges after police say he showed another dog owner a gun in his waistband during an altercation at Whalon Lake in Naperville Friday.
Kevin Cruz, 37, of the 500 block of Barclay Drive, was charged with aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and battery in connection with the incident.
According to David Barrios, deputy police chief for the Forest Preserve District of Will County, Cruz and the other dog owner got into an altercation after their dogs began playing roughly together. Cruz is accused of pushing the other dog owner and kicking their dog.

Barrios told Patch Cruz lifted his shirt to show the other person a gun, but did not draw the gun. Cruz is accused of getting into his car and fleeing after the incident.
After an investigation, a warrant was issued for Cruz's arrest. He turned himself in to the Will County Forest Preserve police on Dec. 3 and was later released on bond.

Barris said Cruz has a valid Firearm Owners Identification card and conceal and carry license. He was also cited for not having a valid permit for the dog park.
