Donor Offers Loaves And Fishes $10K To Match Donations

NAPERVILLE, IL — A Naperville-based food pantry is getting an extra boost from a generous donor during the current coronavirus shutdown. Loaves and Fishes recently announced that a donor will match donations up to $10,000 this week through March 27.

The matching donations apply to direct gifts and virtual food drive gifts.

In a statement on its website, Loaves and Fishes said, "We appreciate the support we have received recently from a number of people in our community. We are grateful for your generosity."

Loaves and Fishes has remained open to keep up with the increasing demands due to employees being out of work and schools being closed. They say they anticipate demands to further increase as supplies decrease, making food donations critical during this time.

To Donate Food to Loaves and Fishes

To donate food items to Loaves and Fishes remotely, residents can use their virtual food drive to order and pay for food that will be delivered to the food pantry.

You can also make donations in person, but note that the food pantry is operating under a new schedule and is open Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
