NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville officials are considering a proposal to open a Dunkin' Go location on Route 59 at Diehl Road. The concept, which only offers drive-through service and mobile order pickup, was first introduced by Dunkin' in 2021.

The city's planning and zoning committee discussed the proposed development during a public hearing at its May 3 meeting. Ahead of the hearing, committee members expressed support for zoning variation requests that would permit the location to have 10 parking spaces instead of 11 and to have its ground sign located closer to the street.

The petitioner and property owner, Prakash Patel, owns two other Dunkin' stores in Naperville, he said. "We are very happy with having two Dunkin' Donuts in Naperville," Patel said. "And would like to add this third one to cater to the southbound traffic and the Diehl Road traffic going eastbound."

The location would feature a double drive-thru that can accommodate up to 17 cars, Patel said. To stay in line with Naperville's ongoing beautification efforts, the property will add more than a dozen trees and feature signage that includes the word "Naperville" as a way to welcome commuters to the city's north side.

The planning and zoning committee gave the proposal a positive recommendation as it moves on to the city council.
