DuPage County Sheriff's Office Offers Tips Following Clown Sightings

If you see someone dressed as a clown behaving suspiciously, call 911 immediately to have police investigate the incident.

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — The DuPage County Sheriff’s Office is offering tips after recent clown sightings in parks, paths, trails and roadways.

The sheriff’s office said the sightings are similar to those being reported by the media and law enforcement across the country.

In order to stay safe, the sheriff’s office is offering people a few simple tips:

  • If you see someone dressed as a clown behaving suspiciously, call 911 immediately to have police investigate the incident.
  • Do not confront any individuals dressed as clowns and always maintain a safe distance.
  • If you are being harassed or followed, go to a public place where there are other people and call 911.
