Missing Aurora Couple Found Safe

They were reported missing at around 10 p.m. Jan. 21.

UPDATE: They’ve been found safe in Indiana.

AURORA, IL — An elderly couple has gone missing and the Aurora Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating them.

George Spieler, 86, and his wife, Marilyn Spieler, 85, were reported missing by a family member at around 10 p.m. Thursday, according to a release from the Department.

They were discovered to be missing at about 1 p.m. Thursday from their home in the first block of South Buell Avenue on Aurora’s West Side. The couple is believed to be in their 2011 Buick Lucerne with an Illinois license plate of MAS 226.

According to the family, George Spieler suffers from dementia and Marilyn cannot see at night. They enjoy going on car rides together and have gotten lost in the past. They are known to frequent area strip malls and restaurants, all of which have been checked with negative results.

George Spieler is 6’2”, 229 pounds; Marilyn Spieler is 5’2”, 120 pounds. Both have gray hair and blue eyes.

Anyone who may come across them or may have seen them is asked to call 911.
