Fire officials say the blaze broke out Friday evening in the 500 block of Burning Tree Lane.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A Naperville family was displaced from their home Friday after a fire broke out in the basement of a townhouse in the 500 block of Burning Tree Lane. The fire was reported just before 6 p.m., according to a news release from Naperville Fire Department Bureau Chief Phil Giannattasio.
Giannattasio wrote that fire crews got to the scene to find heavy smoke and heat coming from the townhouse's basement. Four residents had already safely escaped the blaze, along with their pet bird.
Fire crews were able to put out the flames within 45 minutes. None of the other six townhouse units were damaged by the fire, according to Giannattasio. No injuries were reported.
