Federal Judge Nixes Gun Store Owner's Attempt To Block Gun Ban: Report
An appeals judge recently denied an appeal request by gun store owner Robert Bevis that sought to block a statewide assault weapon ban.
NAPERVILLE, IL — A Naperville gun shop owner's attempts to block a statewide ban on assault weapons hit a block Tuesday. Robert Bevis's injunction request was denied by the 7th U.S. Court of Appeals, according to a report from ABC 7.
The request came after Illinois blocked the sale and unregistered possession of assault weapons throughout the state.
In Tuesday's ruling, U.S. District Judge Virginia Kendall, stated, "because assault weapons are particularly dangerous weapons ... their regulation accords with history and tradition."
