Felon On Parole Accused Of Having Gun In Car At TopGolf In Naperville
This marks the second incident involving a gun at TopGolf in Naperville in less than a month.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Police say they found a gun with an extended magazine in a convicted felon's car while it was parked at the TopGolf in Naperville. Ronald Richardson, 34, of Chicago, has been charged with armed habitual criminal and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon in connection with Tuesday's incident.
This marks the second gun-related incident at TopGolf in Naperville in less than a month. In early September, a Joliet man was accused of having a loaded gun, cocaine, heroin and other narcotics in his vehicle.
An officer was patrolling TopGolf's Odyssey Court parking lot on foot around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, when he reported seeing a gun with an extended magazine in the driver's side door of a car. Police say Richardson later got into the car's driver's seat and "several other individuals" also came back to the car, per a news release.

“As a convicted felon, Mr. Richardson is prohibited from legally owning a firearm,” DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a news release.
He added, “What I find particularly troubling in this case is the allegation that Mr. Richardson was in possession of a loaded firearm at a family-friendly recreation facility. Public safety remains the top priority of my administration. Allegations such as those against Mr. Richardson will not be tolerated in DuPage County and will be fully prosecuted. The proactive efforts demonstrated once again by the Naperville Police Department allowed us to file these charges against Mr. Richardson. Their commitment to public safety is second to none and I commend them for their outstanding police work on this case that led to the removal of a dangerous weapon from our streets and quite possibly prevented a future tragedy."
Richardson is set to be arraigned on Oct. 23.
